As I recall this cover, I think of all the 2-page
spreads that proliferated so many other books at this time. Most seemed
flawed in a very simple way, and I don't know his this escaped them. What
you have to do is design both front and back covers separately--and
then find a way to combine them. Otherwise you get
these strangely cropped images that work only when you open them
up from the back.
I was using my cel-vinyl's back then, and I fondly
remember painting Sundra Peale's face, and how beautiful she looked. All
the main characters were in a back-lighting situation and was a nice trial to
pull that off, lighting-wise. All-in-all, there's probably things in this
painting that I couldn't even duplicate today! -------------------------------------
This was Steve's very first wrap around cover. It is NOT framed, but has been matted.
Size of the actual painted board: 30-1/2 inches x 24 inches
Size with matting: 33 x 24 inches
Painting is OVERSIZED and was scanned in pieces. It will need to be sent for a scan, but they have a history of a quick turnaround, and total time from purchase to delivery should be no more than 2 weeks. Shipping is free and you will receive tracking for everything.
For International orders, because of the size, shipping will have to be via Express Mail as it goes over both the First Class and Priority Dimensions and the Post Office no longer has surface mail.
